THE CYBER STOKIST, WHERE THE RETURN TO NATURE BEGINS.

Top 12 Ways to Improve Your Gas Mileage

We’re all feeling a budget pinch from escalating fuel prices, and the crunch is making us more tuned-in to gas-saving alternatives. Some people have traded their large vehicles for something that uses less gas. I need a truck, and I need to pull a trailer, so trading it for a fuel efficient car isn’t an option.

Increasing my truck’s gas mileage is the best solution for me, and some improvements are easy to accomplish just by staying aware of gas saving basics and changing old habits. Here are a few ways to increase your gas mileage and keep the air we all breathe a little cleaner.

1. Perform Regular Maintenance Tasks

You’ll use less gas if you keep your vehicle tuned up and running like it should. Read your owner’s manual and make sure your tires are inflated as the manufacturer recommends, because under inflation creates a drag that reduces fuel economy. Don’t forget about your truck’s wheel alignment, because you won’t get optimum gas mileage if the truck isn’t rolling straight.

2. Maintain Good Aerodynamics

Installing a bed cover on your truck helps its aerodynamics. Air rushes over the cover and off the back of the truck, instead of into the bed, where it pushes on the tailgate and creates drag that can make you use more gas.Roof racks are handy sometimes, but carrying things on the roof creates another source of drag that can increase your gas consumption. Keep your roof clear unless you actually need to haul something from one place to another.

3. Keep it Steady

Continuous up and down acceleration and braking lowers your gas mileage. Use your cruise control on the highway to help maintain a constant speed and take it slow and easy on starts and stops. Slow down a little in general if you can, because the truck uses more gas when you drive at higher speeds.

4. Use the Right Kind of Gas

Read your owner’s manual to find out which type of gas the manufacturer recommends for your vehicle. Use a good brand of gas, one with detergent additives that keep the system clean, but don’t buy more expensive premium if the automaker recommends regular.

5. Turn if Off When You Can

If you’re stopped in traffic, turn the vehicle off, don’t sit there and idle for ten minutes.Avoid drive-thru windows with long lines. Park the truck and go inside the bank, restaurant, pharmacy or other business.

6. Plan Your Route

Try to plan your trips to avoid congested, high-traffic areas with repeated traffic snarls and stop-and-go driving.

7. Use Your Air Conditioning Less

Air conditioning makes the truck use more gas, so turn it off when you can and try the vents instead.

Reduce the A/C’s load by parking in the shade so that the truck doesn’t heat up as much during short stops. Leave the windows or sunroof cracked slightly if you’ll be right back or if you’re close enough to run out and shut them if a rain shower erupts.

8. Combine Trips

Try to combine your errands so that you can get everything you need during one trip, especially if you live a distance from shopping areas.

9. Don’t Haul Items You Don’t Need

You’ll improve your gas mileage if you lighten up the load. Remove unnecessary items from the truck bed or cargo area.

10. Carpool or Ride a Bike

It’s not always possible, but carpooling can save you a lot of dollars in fuel bills. Carpooling drivers are allowed to use less congested Interstate highway lanes in many cities during rush hours, so you might even get to work faster.

Consider public transportation if you live in a city or town that provides it.

Ride a bicycle for short trips, or walk to your destination. You won’t use any gas at all and you’ll be a step ahead with your daily exercise.

There is no such thing as free gas or petrol! If your looking into gas savings or a fuel saver and are looking into reviews of devices that are magnetic. Make sure your car is getting the best mpg or kilometers per litre kpl. with these free tips first. With these basic tips you can increase your fuel economy and also improve your ride and prolong you cars life.

Fix a car with that is noticeably out of tune or has emission problems can give you better gas mileage or kilometers per litre of up to 4%. No the best mileage improvement you say read on.

A faulty oxygen sensor when fixed can improve your gas mileage up to 40% now your thinking money in your pocket.

If you are looking to improve fuel economy here are some other tips and figures based on government figures and based on $3.10 a gallon.

Replace air filters regularly this can improve your gas mileage or kilometers per litre up to 10%. Replacing air filters regularly can also improve engine life by reducing the amount of fine air particles that enter your engine. What type of gas mileage improvement can you expect?

Fuel Economy Savings: up to 10%
Equivalent Gasoline Savings: up to $0.31/gallon

Keep Tires Properly Inflated. This is not only a gas savings issues but also a safety issue and a way to increase the life of your tires. Many people seriously neglect tire pressure. I suggest no less than once a month. It takes a tire pressure gauge that is less than 5 bucks and takes 5 minutes of your time!

Improve Gas Mileage: up to 3%
Equivalent Fuel Savings: up to $0.09/gallon

Motor oil always use the recommended grade and change as suggested by your manufacturer. Don’t skim here you get what you pay for. I even suggest changing your oil every 3,000 miles and if you have a turbo or turbo diesel and kick it in a lot I would even suggest more frequent oil changes! Why frequent oil changes. Well most people I have talked to that get longevity on the engines usually change oil every 3000 miles. What can you expect with proper oil changes and using suggested grades and weights!

Fuel Economy Benefit: 1-2%
Equivalent Gasoline Savings: $0.03-$0.06/gallon

“miracle” additives

You’ll notice that I don’t have any “miracle” additives, mystical magnets or other products of dubious operation in my list. Any gas mileage claims that are too good to be true are, in fact, too good to be true. You will not make a mouse hair’s change to your car’s performance or gas mileage by pouring a $10 miracle additive into your gas tank. It just ain’t that easy. If you really want to save money, treat gas mileage panaceas as you would botulism. Trust me, you don’t want it

11. Drive Sensibly

cartoon of carAggressive driving (speeding, rapid acceleration and braking) wastes gas. It can lower your gas mileage by 33 percent at highway speeds and by 5 percent around town. Sensible driving is also safer for you and others, so you may save more than gas money.

Fuel Economy Benefit:
5-33%
Equivalent Gasoline Savings:
$0.20-$1.35/gallon

Observe the Speed Limit

Graph showing MPG VS speed MPG decreases rapidly at speeds above 60 mphWhile each vehicle reaches its optimal fuel economy at a different speed (or range of speeds), gas mileage usually decreases rapidly at speeds above 60 mph.

You can assume that each 5 mph you drive over 60 mph is like paying an additional $0.30 per gallon for gas.

Observing the speed limit is also safer.

Fuel Economy Benefit:
7-23%
Equivalent Gasoline Savings:
$0.29-$0.94/gallon

Remove Excess Weight

Avoid keeping unnecessary items in your vehicle, especially heavy ones. An extra 100 pounds in your vehicle could reduce your MPG by up to 2%. The reduction is based on the percentage of extra weight relative to the vehicle’s weight and affects smaller vehicles more than larger ones.

Fuel Economy Benefit:
1-2%/100 lbs
Equivalent Gasoline Savings:
$0.04-$0.08/gallon

Avoid Excessive Idling

Idling gets 0 miles per gallon. Cars with larger engines typically waste more gas at idle than do cars with smaller engines.

Use Cruise Control

Using cruise control on the highway helps you maintain a constant speed and, in most cases, will save gas.

Use Overdrive Gears

When you use overdrive gearing, your car’s engine speed goes down. This saves gas and reduces engine wear.

12. Increase Gas Milieage In Unconventional Ways

Hydrogen Car Hybrid or HHO. The technology is available now!

Sound too good to be true? according to an article at Sweet Briar College yes water can be broken down into hydrogen and oxygen using the process of electrolysis. Electrolysis is using electricity to break down the atoms into two simple gases hydrogen and oxygen. Read it for yourself.

Some may tell you that if you want better fuel economy get a fuel efficient car or vehicle. That may not always be an option for those who can’t afford the cost or expense of a fuel efficient vehicle. Other may still need the power of a larger engine but are looking for ways to get better gas mileage with their current truck or car.

We have found devices that use electricity from your cars battery, to increase gas mileage. Through the process of electrolysis to separate water into a gas called HHO (2 Hydrogen + 1 Oxygen). This gas is sometimes referred to as Hydroxy or Browns gas creating lots of energy. Brown’s gas is then drawn into the intake manifold through the engine’s normal vacuum. HHO contains the power of hydrogen but maintains the stability of water.

HHO GAS IS 3 TIMES MORE POTENT THAN GASOLINE!!! This is becoming a trend for producing MPG’s.

So what can you expect from a hybrid hydrogen on demand gas saving vehicle?

– Improve gas mileage by at least 40%
– Reduces harmful exhaust emission
– Enhance engine power and performance
– Reduce the operating temperature of the engine and waste heat
– Notice a calmer, quieter and much smoother engine
– Enjoy a longer life expectancy of your engine
– Remove carbon deposits and prevent the future buildup of carbon

These are some of the advantages of gas for water products. You can build this from the comfort of you home. Helps older cars with higher octane requirements. You also have permission to replicate these devices for yourself or for your own business. If you not comfortable building this system from home you will find a database of people who have done the work for you.

Many people are purchasing these devices and plans for their cars and trucks because most people don’t want be left in the dark if this technology goes underground. go to http://www.malaysiangreencar.wordpress.com
